In May, Bayer proposed a merger with Monsanto but MON walked away telling Bayer that the price was too low. In my latest article for Seeking Alpha, I write about the fact that Bayer is back with a higher bid and a break-up fee proposal which could mean that MON is a buy at the current price of $103 per share despite the regulatory hurdles that could prove a deal killer.

WASDE And Oversupply, For Now

On Monday, September 12, the USDA released its September WASDE report and the news of the fourth straight year of bumper crops sent grain prices lower. In my latest piece for Seeking Alpha, I explain why the downside may be limited for grains from current price levels and why the one constant reported by the Department of Agriculture will eventually lead to much higher prices.

Decade lows in Wheat

Last week the price of CBOT wheat fell to the lowest level since 2006 when it traded below $4 per bushel. In my latest work for Seeking Alpha I look at wheat and caution that it is a bad time to get too bearish on this commodity that has a long history of being even more political than crude oil.

Wheat- The Laggard that Will Catch Up

Soybeans were the first to tell us that the 2016 crop year is going to be a lot different than the past three years. In my latest work for QT Ag Online, I point out that corn is now following the beans and while wheat prices have been lagging due to high inventories there are signs that wheat too will follow in a year that is starting to look more and more like 2012 for the grain markets.
