Glencore, the international commodity trading giant, bought Viterra in 2012. This acquisition made Glencore a major player in the international agricultural commodity business. In my latest article for Seeking Alpha, I explain why Glencore’s latest move to sell 40% of their Agribusiness to Canada Pension is likely due to over extension and the need to pay down debt. I also pose the question — since Glencore bought the highs in grains in 2012 are they now selling the lows?
