Natural gas is a very volatile commodity. Last year’s cold winter depleted inventories but those stockpiles were built back up this summer. We still remain 12.2% below last years stock levels and 13.3% below the 5 year average. The last time inventories were this low was in 2004 and 2005, both years the low price traded in natural gas futures was higher than today’s price.
